The Helambu trek is a wonderful, short and easy trek nearby Kathmandu Valley. Helambu region lies north in direction from the Kathmandu and nearest Himalayan trekking destination but it remains relatively un-spoilt and has been kept safe its natural tranquility. The hyolmo culture of high mountain people, the trails falling through the green rhododendron and bamboo forests, majestic waterfalls, and snow-capped Himalayas considered the trek most diverse and unique one. The great Himalayan panorama at the border of Tibet and Buddhist monasteries would make the trek to this region outstanding. The people we meet in the highlands are looked like Tibeatan and culture and custom is matched with the Tibeatan society.

The Helambu Trek starts from Sundarijal, an hour's drive from Kathmandu. After about an hour's walk, we enter Shivapuri National Park. Continuing along the Chisapani, Kutumsang, Thadepati and Sermathang, the trek ends at the Melamchi Pul Bazar in the Helambu region. The trek passes through thick mountain forests with great Himalayan views and toward the end of the trip, you will also trek through some beautiful rice terraces and a number of splendid Buddhist monasteries.

Day to Day Itinerary
 
Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu            
 
On your arrival at Tribhuwan International airport (1,300m/4,264 ft), meet Outlook representative and greet service and transfer to hotel. Get refreshed well and evening, we especially welcome you by typical Nepali cuisine dinner with ethnic cultural program. Return to hotel and overnight.
 
Day 02: Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu
 
After taking breakfast at hotel your full day city sightseeing starts from around Boudhanath, Pashupatinath Swayambhunath & Kathmandu Durbar Square. These places are very much famous in Nepal with their own religious & cultural norms.  You really will enjoy these places. Boudhanath & Swambhunath are famous Buddhist stupas. Pashupatinath is famous for numerous hindus temples & Lord Shiva, itself. You can be a witness of the sacred Hindu Cremation done at the edge of Bagmati River.  In Durbar Square you can see numerous pagoda style temples, Living goddess kumari temple, Kal bhairab and Shiva Parbati Temple. Except these, they all are listed in UNESCO for their uniqueness. Lunch will be provided at Boudhhanath. From Swayambhunath you can see the total Kathmandu Valley. Evening pre-trip discussion and introduce with our fellow trekking staff for your adventure trip. Rest of the day is free. Dinner at hotel and overnight.
 
Day 03: Sundarijal to Chisapani
 
With early breakfast, we will head towards the Sundarijal (1350m) where we start trekking to Chisopani (2300m). we will visit a small hydropower plant then proceed through entering the shivapuri National park. We will be walking through the ethnic Tamang settlement Mulkharka. 4 hours trek goes through the Oaks and rhododendron forest, we arriave at Chisopani and dinner and overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 04: Trek to Kutumsang
 
Breakfast and start walking towards the Kutumsang. Trekking trail goes crossing the meadows and fields. Exploring the view of the Langtang mountain region, we arrive in the Pathi Bhanjyang and Gul Bhanjyang.  We will thoroughly pass from the Gul Bhanjyang, the trail climbs the ridge to another pass then descend walking will bring you the Kutumsang. Dinner and overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 05: Trek to Tharepati 3650m
 
We ascend to the Kutumsang on the steep trail mostly through fir and rhododendron forest. Continue trek to Yurin danda with the magnificence views of the Himalayas. With around 6 hours walking, we conclude today’s trek at Tharepati (3,650m) then dinner and overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 06: Trek proceeds to Tarkeghayng & Helambhu
 
After breakfast we proceed to Tarkeghayng (2560m/6 hours trekking), our trekking goes descend until we cross the Melamchi river. When we pass through the Tarkeghyang, we will explore the beauty of the Himalayan peaks and Sherpa ethnic settlements. With the glistening of sunshine magnificence we will be climbing up with discovering oldest monasteries and ancient helmu tribal village, thus this area is called Helambu. Dinner and overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 07: Trek to Sermathang Village
 
Today we trek to Sermathang (2610m/ 3.5 hours walking) an easy walk does not feel us altitude variation. The trail offers Sherpa village, forest, streams and waterfalls during, monastery and also splendid view of Jugal Himalaya range north face of the village Sermathang. 

Day 08: Trek to Melamchi Pul Bazar & back to KTM
 
The trail gradually descend the way to Melamchi pul bazaar, an easy walking with the suburb of the village where you will get chance to interact with the local different ethnic people and culture. From this point we can catch up the bus to Kathmandu. Check in hotel and refreshment, overnight in hotel.

Day 09: Departure

We are concluding our trek here and prepare for the departure for onward journey or you can contact Outlook Nepal Tours for extend your holidays in the Himalayan country.

Everest Gokyo Ri Trek

Gokyo Ri (5380m) is situated in the Khumbu or Everest region. Everest Gokyo Ri is located on the west side of the Ngozumpa glacier, the largest glacier in Nepal. Gokyo is a tiny settlement of few stone houses. Gokyo Ri is a base hilltop to observe the legendary Himalayas above 8000 meters Mount Everest,  Cho- Oyu, Nuptse and Lhotse.  The remote gokyo valley, greenish-blue lakes festival and moon-scape like glaciers count the Gokyo Ri trek valuable. Namche bazar  then follow the rivers run off from the Ngozumpa glacier to Machhermo.  We will be exploring  a string of cobalt blue lakes in the high mountain Gokyo valley. From Goyko RI a vantage point,  you will explore and be witness yourself of the 360 degree Himalayan panaroma where you observe the magnificence views of the 8000 meters legendray himalayas Mount Everest, Lohste, Nupste, Cho-oyu and Ama dablam.

This trekking route has been designed  for  those trekkers who do not have previous experience of trekking or summit climbing but enormous desire to observe over 8000 meters peaks from the nearest vantage point. This could be a fair challanging trek, trekkers only should have 6-7 hours daily walking  capacity and excellent courage to accomplish something perfectly.
 
 

Royal Trek of Annapurna Foothills
