Next the tour group heads on over to the Tugu Negara; also known as the National Monument, this sculpture was erected to commemorate those who perished in Malaysia's fight for independence against the Japanese occupation during WWII and the Malayan Emergency.

The tour carries on with a visit to the infamous Chinatown; located along Petaling Street, this avenue is renowned as a one-stop hub for purchasing fake-designer merchandise as well as for its rich Chinese culture. This street is also best-known for its collection of hawker stalls selling local delicacies, fruits and bootleg DVD’s; it’s important to remember to haggle aggressively in order to get good bargains.
